Life is the ceremony, how we live it is the ritual
Since the beginning of time, ceremony and ritual have been a big part of communities around the world.
However in the UK, many of us have forgotten the old ways, and as a result we find ourselves going through life without honouring the major transitions we go through in life. We are lacking initiations and I feel that leaves us spiritually ungrounded.
It’s all about intention
We still perform ceremony - for example weddings and funerals - but it can sometimes feel like we’re going through the motions, without fully understanding, honouring or personalising what it is that we are doing?
I’m passionate about bringing ceremony back to the heart and to the soul. Encouraging people and communities to create their life events and occasions in a way that is special and means something specifically to them. By dedicating time, space and intention to these life and soul transitions, we can start to back a sense of initiation and a sense of gratitude for the lessons that life brings.
We all need a helping hand sometimes… a safe haven in the storm where we can catch our breath and gather ourselves. Creating ceremony, and performing ritual, can provide those moments.
Whether it’s Mother’s blessings, naming ceremonies, friendship commitments, divorce ceremonies, menarche, welcoming menopause and cronehood, weddings, memorials, new home blessings, preparing for a new job, leaving an old job, marking the moment to start trying for a family, or marking the moment the kids fly the nest… there are many life transitions to celebrate.
The way we spend time together has changed.
Increasingly, people want to share meaningful experiences with those they love. It’s time to remember the old ways, to make new traditions, and create new rituals. Time to join together in new and alternative ceremonies to celebrate, connect and give thanks.
Forming ceremony and ritual with clear intention is a powerful and beautiful way to take charge of your life. If this calls to you, reach out, I’d be honoured to create a bespoke ceremony or ritual, just for you.
